Smoke Alarms

We offer our customers in the housing industry the full range of options for everything to do with smoke detectors and their maintenance, so that the responsiveness of the devices can be maintained.

Providing smoke detectors

We only supply smoke detectors where we exactly know what they are able to achieve, because we have developed these devices based upon our own experience as a service provider and also manufacture them ourselves. Our devices, like our services, are precisely tailored to the needs and requirements of the housing industry.

We offer our customers in the housing industry a service for our smoke detectors based upon the requirements of the DIN 14676 standard, whereby our devices are responsibly installed and maintained by our own installation and maintenance, and service employees.

Conditions which are especially socially acceptable with the highest levels of safety and service are not just words for us, but a strong conviction. We are happy to advise you.

Installation of smoke detectors

We have developed the MGP installation technique, which allows us to securely install our smoke detectors in 30 seconds as per the standard DIN 14676 without drilling and moving furniture. We also offer conventional installation by drilling upon request.

Smoke detector maintenance

Our independently organised and especially thorough and careful maintenance service keep the reliable functional capability of the detectors at the same level as that of a new device. Our employees operate across the country and set performance benchmarks in areas such as adherence to deadlines, transparent, real time proof of performance and uncompromising service quality. Our satisfied customers will confirm this.

Pyrexx Maintenance Service: A Comprehensive Service which Offers Genuine Safety

Maintenance perfectly organised – independent and straightforward

Eye-catching notices in the entrance areas of the property announce the visit of our service employees 14 days before the first appointment. If tenants are not at home during the first appointment, we leave them a card with details of a second appointment, which is included in our prices. The appointment is scheduled so that, in our experience, most working people will be at home. Should a tenant not be at home for both appointments, the tenant has the opportunity to arrange an individual appointment via our service centre or online portal at any time of the day.

Highly developed scheduling logistics

If devices are are defective through no fault of the tenant, they will be replaced free of charge. Smoke detectors which are defective due to third parties are replaced, as well as devices which are missing. Our highly developed scheduling logistics means we visit 94 to 96% of tenants on the first or second appointment. Additionally, all work processes which take place are optimally rationalised so that we only take up four minutes of the tenant's time. This means we always achieve maximum acceptance of services by the tenants.

The PX-1

The smoke detectors PX-1 and PX-1C are available from us and have been intensively trialled. They have a lifetime of 12 years (electronics + battery). And naturally they fully conform to the requirements of the EN 14604 standard.

Learn more about the PX-1 developed by us

We developed the smoke and heat detectors PX-1 and PX-1C out of economic and ecological considerations. This new generation of devices is operated by a permanently installed long-life battery, which cannot be removed. 230 Volt devices do not offer any advantages, because this type of detector needs its own electricity supply, which means time-consuming, and therefore expensive, installation work. It often also means noise and dust. Even detectors with a removable long-life battery are not an option for us, as we know from many years of experience in the housing industry that such devices often use up many batteries. This can result in unwanted risks and the used batteries often end up in domestic rubbish, which is an ecological crime.

Environmental influences

Even when the electricity supply is secure, as it is with our devices, there are still various environmental influences which can endanger the operational readiness of the devices and therefore endanger people's safety. A smoke detector is rarely installed in a sterile room where there are no harmful environmental influences. Where there are heavy smokers, one year's worth of nicotine condensate alone can contaminate a smoke detector so that the device has to be replaced. Ordinary house dust, renovations, construction work, cooking fat, above-average humidity and acidity levels in the air, as well as vandalism and theft, are all factors which make the regular maintenance of smoke detectors essential.

Warning when the optical electronics are impaired

Our smoke and heat detectors PX-1 and PX-1C are equipped to be able to offer a highly dependable warning, not just through very precise measurement electronics which temporarily compensate for contamination of the sensitive optical measuring elements, but which also have an additional warning function which gives people an early warning via an acoustic warning signal when a high level of contamination of the detection electronics could lead to an impairment of its warning ability.

Figuratively speaking, our devices work with a net and a double floor in order to be completely sure that each detector is able to send out an early warning in an emergency.

Neglecting the regular maintenance of your smoke detectors is reckless behaviour!

With all this highly developed and intensively trialled technology, it is ultimately still very important that a professional, experienced maintenance technician checks once a year whether the detector is in its defined position, if the air inlets are free from foreign bodies and also if the electronics are operating within normal parameters. Such a careful approach ultimately ensures a highly dependable warning in the worst case scenario – a house fire.

This is how we ensure that a fire is noticed early, that people are able to escape early enough, that the fire service can be called to the scene of the fire early and that the fire damage is kept to a relatively low level.

Besides our comprehensive end customer service, we offer our customers an online customer portal which makes it possible to follow job currently being carried out in real time, to see and check our appointments and proofs of performance, to show changes of tenant, as well as to enter and update data on the housing stock. Housing units which have already been fitted with a smoke detector by the tenant can be excluded from our service at the click of a mouse button. Our online customer portal for tenant services and technical departments has been developed from our cooperation with the housing industry and the experience we have gained. Its design is very clear, simple and intuitive. Almost no instructions on use are necessary. Right from day one you will experience the work with us as a completely smooth organisation of services. And of course we will ensure that there is always a high level of data security, together with maximum ease of operation.

End customers

For our end customers we have developed a complete, yet simple and intuitive service portal where you can enter service orders, enquire about the status of an existing service request, or simply give feedback to Pyrexx. The tenant can also learn about important aspects of fire prevention, download operating instructions as a PDF, or browse through our extensive FAQ.

As we are always working on improving the service we offer, we have prepared a quality feedback monitor where customers can anonymously give their quality rating. Furthermore, end customers will also find interactive, step-by-step operating instructions.

Customers

We have provided our customers and service teams from the housing industry with a portal for effective communication between the client and the contractor. It sets out the complex scheduling logistics transparently so that they can be easily understood. At any given time the customer has a complete overview of the upcoming appointments and the maintenance work which has been carried out. And is doesn't matter whether the housing stock in question has 5,000, 50,000 or 500,000 units.

Tenant data with details on the work carried out can be conveniently viewed and updated. Up-to-date information on contractual fulfilment is also always available to the service team, so that they can always give authoritative answers to tenants when asked about Pyrexx services and scheduling.
